About Amy Musick, M.Ed., MS, CCHC

Amy holds advanced degrees in School Administration and Early Childhood Education. She is a nationally credentialed Child Care Director and an External Specialist for the Texas Infant and Toddler Specialist Network. As a TECPDS Registered Trainer, Certified Child Care Health Consultant, and 2022 recipient of the TXAEYC Susan Hargrave Trainer of the Year, she provides training, mentoring, and consultation services through SMART Family Literacy. She is also a facilitator with Texas Parks and Wildlife's Project WILD with credentials in Outdoor Learning Environments from North Carolina State University.
Amy is a certified teacher with credentials in 8-12 Life Science, Gifted and Talented Instruction, English as a Second Language, and Special Education experience.
About Alyssa Shadle
Director of Educational Outreach

Alyssa Shadle has a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Wayland Baptist University, as well as a teaching certificate in the state of Texas in Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Core subjects for Early Childhood through 6th grade. Additionally, she holds over 200 hours of Early Childhood Certificates, as well as an Early Childcare Director’s Certificate in the state of Texas. On the SMART Team, Alyssa is the Director of Educational Outreach and serves as the Volunteers Coordinator, SMART Heart Partners Coordinator, and Assistant for the “Make Space for Reading” SMART Conference on May 4th.
Alyssa has always had a passion for early childhood education, as well as community involvement in the Early Childhood space. Alyssa believes strongly that when people in the community work together to impact a specific need, amazing things can happen. Additionally, Alyssa is passionate about empowering parents to partner with educators and SMART staff to allow for a safe, solid foundation of learning for all children in the community.
